Man Swallowed By Whale!

Michael Packard was diving of the coast of Cape Cod.

"I was only diving for 30 to 40 seconds then I got swallowed by the whale." he said.

Michael was diving looking for lobsters when all of a sudden, a humpback whale had got him in his mouth.

Michael said"I thought I was going to die."

The whale tried to gulp but thankfully the whale spat him out so Michael could see another day.

I think that Michael was very lucky to survive this crazy experience.

Area Pixel Art

We have been learning about area and perimeter. For this task we had to make some pixel art in a google sheet.  We then had to calculate the area of our artwork and of each colour we used. One square was equal to 1cm 2 the total area of my pixel art which is Mario was 141 cm 2 and the perimeter was 47 cm.    Here are my other area calculations.

Maui and the Flame

We have been learning about different myths from different countries.  This week we were looking at different myths that tell how fire was discovered.  I chose Maui and the flame to focus on. I made a  storyboard to tell part of the story.

Biggest Lasagne Ever!

We have been learning perimeter and area so we did an investigation using the Guiness Book of Records. We researched the record for the world's biggest lasagne. This is the biggest lasagne in the world.  We calculated the area and perimeter then we used jam board to show what we had found.

Classroom Area

This week we are learning to calculate the area of a variety of shapes.  For one of our investigations we had to create a to scale plan in jam board. This is a drawing of our classroom. We have done measurements of the room and tables.  We then calculated the area of everything and drew this to scale plan on jam board.
